An hours-long standoff at the largest veterans home in the country ended on Friday night with four people dead, including the suspected gunman.
The three victims were identified as female mental health professionals, including two employees of a counseling service for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
The suspect had held hostages at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville, where a going-away party was being held for some departing employees.
The suspect, who authorities identified as Albert Wong, 36, was an ex-patient of the facility. He had exchanged gunfire with police before taking the women hostage, CNN reported.
